FAQs

Does having a pump motor cover trap in heat?

It is possible to trap in heat if the cover is not properly ventilated. Our pump motor covers have more than enough ventilation. There are 6 screened vent holes, plus the back is partially open to allow for further ventilation. When direct sunlight shines on your pump motor cover, it heats up the metal, adding to the heat from the motor. Our white p.v.c. covers reflect u.v. rays and keeps the atmosphere around the pump motor cooler. The difference is like standing in the sun or standing in the shade.

Can I paint my pump motor cover?

Yes. White is the best color, because it reflects heat instead of absorbing it, but the p.v.c. has a matte finish, which readily accepts paints if desired.

Can I anchor the motor cover to the slab?

Yes, although it is not necessary. The “feet” of the cover can easily be screwed or anchored down. The dome-like design allows wind to flow over and around the cover. In most cases the cover can simply be placed over the motor and it will stay put, even during storms.
